"Get the cheese to sickbay!"

I want to work out so bad. How weird is that? I think it's the impending summer. All those skinny bitches running around skantily clad. I don't have all my classwork done and I've been procrastinating as usual. I hate how I do that.

Anyone else still friends with at least one of their exes? Like good friends? I've been struggling to maintain friends with one of mine. I don't really have anyone I can talk to about this so I figured blabbing to the internet would make me feel a little better. I don't really want to go too into it, but he and I basically don't hang out anymore. It's gotten much, much better but no where close to normal or even comfortable. I just really miss being friends with him and it seriously affects my daily life. We have a lot in common, things that I don't have in common with my fantastically awesome boyfriend or other friends. So I don't have anyone to get excited about those things or share those things with me. We've got a lot of dating and just friend history... I just wish we could get back to the friend part sooner. Frankly, I miss him.

So I went shopping at Old Navy last Friday because of that kickass store-wide 30% off sale. I bought 3 skirts (yes SKIRTS - amazing to those who know me!), 1 thin and comfy hoodie, 1 bright yellow cardigan, and a bunch of stuff for Mical. He's been so sweet about my money situation this semester that giving him a mini shopping spree was the least I could do. There will be more surprises like that for him throughout the summer. =) Anyway, in the skirts I bought 2 are size 12 and 1 is a medium!!!!!! I was originally a size 16/XL when I started my weight loss journey. HELL YES! I tried on size 12 pants but they're a bit too snug still. I'm close though, so that's exciting! I would've bought 1 pair of size 12 pants anyway (for future use and incentive) but they all had those nasty horizontal lines on the thighs. Ugh, I hate that. Just makes my already wide hips look wider. Not good, ladies.

I better get back to studying. Once again, let me know if you ever want to work out with me! I'd still love a buddy! =D

hey brittany,
this is amanda richter, not sure if you remember me from high school. anyway, i saw the comment you made on crystal's facebook about weight watchers and i was curious about your blog...i've been toying with the idea of joining. i completely agree/identify with most of your reasons for joining, and it's great to see that you've been so successful. i basically just wanted to say congrats for losing weight in a healthy and maintainable way, and that you've helped inspire me to get off my ass and actually make the commitment to lose weight myself, so thanks!

Of course I remember you! Thank you so much. You're such a sweetheart! That's fantastic news that you want to make that commitment. The good thing, a secret really, is that its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. Weight watchers spells it out for you. For goodness sake I just ate an eclair in the middle of the day. A weight watchers one, but YUM - so good. I think working out was the hardest part for me. If you can, find a buddy that will go with you. Even if they can't go all the time it will still motivate you to get off your butt and help you get in a rhythm. Oh and I don't know if you already cook, but if you don't I really recommend learning. You save tons of money, eat lots, and eat well. Just makes you even more aware. If you need any help or have any questions feel free to message me.

It's comments and fb msgs like yours that give me that little extra boost to keep going. Thanks so much for leaving one. =D

i went ahead and joined and had my first weigh-in yesterday! i'm excited about it (which will hopefully last awhile). i do cook, and i like trying new recipes - i bought a house about a month ago and got out of a crappy roommate situation and i've been cooking almost every night since then. before that i'd been eating take-out or fast food most nights for about 3 months cause i couldn't stand my roommate and didn't want to be in the kitchen with her. i feel like this shouldn't be too drastic a change...i already make somewhat of an attempt to eat healthy by having veggies with dinner every night and fresh fruit for breakfast and i really don't eat much junk. i think my biggest problem is portion control, and eating out for lunch every day. oh and i love cooking with butter, but apparently weight watchers frowns on that. and yeah, work-out motivation will probably be a problem too.

That's great!! The cooking will help so much. Check out the recipes on weightwatchers.com with your online membership. I especially love the crab cakes. =) Any of the seafood really. With the butter, try out one of the Smart Balance Light butters.

Oh, wow. I completely relate to the roommate story. I used to have some horrible ones. I ate out everyday - gained a lot. =/ Congrats on the house!! It's so nice having one. I hope you're having fun setting it up!

Do you have any friends near you that might want to start working out or already do? If not, classes at your gym can be really fun! Even if it's just yoga. I also have a wii and I play EA Sports Active when I don't have tons of time or need some variety. That shit makes me sore! Hilarious, right? There are lots of different work outs too so it's not repetitive. Or dog walking even. I have 4 dogs so that's always an option for me. But if you don't have one or have a tiny/lazy dog. You could walk your neighbors! Sounds weird, but they'll welcome it.
